Arrived early AM to sunny skies, rare as Bergen has only around 60 sunny days a year. After overnight flight with little sleep we were tired but happy to finally start our Scandinavian adventure.
Roof of Fortress originally built in medieval times but modified many times over the years. Good view from there.Bergen’s prosperity came from fishing, cod mostly which was dried and shipped all over the world. Now tourism and supply boats for North Sea oil rigs are main income.
Brace made of tree trunk, it’s inverted the top part is from the root structure spreading from the tree’s trunk.
WW1 mine, not sure why a monument now.
Fish market for tourists, you can buy items and have them cooked and served.

More seafood from the fish market - way expensive, King Crab $100 a pound.
