Whale for breakfast and embarkation
Our second day in Bergen started with breakfast at our hotel which included smoked whale. I did not ask for details but gave it a try, tasted like lean tender beef filet - had they said it was filet I would not have known otherwise. Pieces were small and served with other sliced meats and cheeses. Other typical breakfast stuff too. Restaurant at top of mountain overlooking Bergen - a funicular takes you to the top, we walked down. Norway likes their trolls, they are all over - this one on top of the mountain. Repeat pic from yesterday, local refer to it as the American Embassy - Bill Clinton was in town and not liking local food - mostly fish - they sent out to this McDonalds. Local code requires they maintain the original exterior. Breakfast, whale is on the left. The hike home took us thru a lush forest full of moss and ferns and lots of spruce trees.
